Legacify Family Tree is operated by Legacy Lab NG. By signing in you agree to what is on this page. It is written to be read rather than skipped.

You need to be an adult to hold an account. You sign in with a Google account and you are responsible for what is done from it, so do not let somebody else use yours. Tell us if you think someone has.

The names, dates, photographs, recordings and stories a family puts into Legacify belong to that family. Putting them here does not give Legacy Lab NG ownership of them and does not give us the right to sell them, license them, publish them or train anything on them.

You give us only the permission needed to run the service, which is to store what you upload, show it to the people that family has admitted, make the smaller copies of a photograph that let it load on a phone, and keep backups so that an accident does not erase a lineage. That permission ends when the material is deleted.

A family can export its archive. If Legacify ever shuts down, we will give reasonable notice and a way to take the archive out. A platform for preserving family memory that can vanish with the memory inside it is not worth using.

Do not upload anything you have no right to upload. Do not use Legacify to harass anybody, to settle a quarrel by publishing private material about a relative, or to record deliberate falsehoods about a named person. Do not upload unlawful material.

Family disagreement about lineage is normal and expected, and the platform has a way to dispute a record rather than fight over it. Use that. An honest disagreement is not a breach of these terms. Using somebody's family record as a weapon is.

What is recorded here is what a family says about itself. We do not verify lineage and we do not certify anybody's descent. Legacify is a record of what a family holds to be true, and it should not be treated as legal proof of parentage, inheritance or entitlement to anything.

Legacify Family Tree was in testing until 1 October 2026, and everything entered during the test was cleared on that date. What is recorded from then on is kept. The platform is new, so things will still go wrong from time to time; when they do, tell us through the contact form and we will put them right.

The service is provided as it is. We work hard to keep it available and to keep archives safe, but we do not promise it will never go down and never fail. Keep your own copies of photographs and documents that matter to you. To the extent the law allows, Legacy Lab NG is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the service.

Nothing here removes a right you have under Nigerian law that cannot be signed away.

You can stop using Legacify whenever you like and ask us to close your account. We can suspend an account that is breaking these terms, and where it is not urgent we will say what the problem is and give a chance to fix it first.

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and the courts of Nigeria have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
